Eagle Scout is the highest rank attainable in Scouts BSA. Since the rank was created by the Boy Scouts of America in 1911, only four percent of Scouts have earned this rank.
To become an Eagle Scout, the Scout must earn at least 21 merit badges, 14 of which must be Eagle-required merit badges. The Eagle Scout must demonstrate Scout Spirit, an ideal attitude based on the Scout Oath and Law, as well as service and leadership. This includes an extensive service project that the Scout plans, organizes, leads, and manages. Eagle Scouts are presented with a medal and a badge that visibly recognizes their accomplishments. Eagle Scouts earn additional recognition through Eagle Palms (Bronze, Silver, Gold), which are awarded for completing additional tenure, demonstrating leadership, and earning additional merit badges.
Those who have earned the rank of Eagle Scout are eligible, although not required, to join the National Eagle Scout Association.
Below are those Scouts in Troop 940 who, through their dedication, leadership, and hard work who have achieved Scouting's highest rank.
