Boy Scout Troop 940 is chartered by
Main Street United
Methodist Church, Kernersville, North Carolina. It original
charter was issued in 1925 to the same church. During these 80 years, the troop has placed 87 Eagle scouts into the Kernersville
community. Troop 940 belongs to the Salem District, Old Hickory Council, Boy Scouts of America. We attend camp every summer at nearby Camp Raven Knob. The Troop meets every Monday evening at the church. Most meetings are spent in active pursuit of merit badges, or planning for the next outing. The troop has at least one outdoor activity every month - rain, shine, sleet or snow! Recent outings have included Northern Tier High Adventure, hiking at Devil's Marbleyard and biking down the Virginia Creeper Trail. For more information contact the
